PURPOSE: To make it possible to cut the end of a photosensitive drum in a short period of time without affecting its photosensitive layer by cutting the end of the photosensitive drum by utilizing water of an ultra-high pressure.
CONSTITUTION: The end of the photosensitive drum 1 after a coating film is formed thereon is cut by the water of the ultra-high pressure. Namely, a cutting device includes a chucking device 2 which supports the inside surface of the cylinder of the photosensitive drum 1 on the side inner than its cutting section, a device which transmits rotational driving for rotating this chucking device 2, a discharging section 4 which discharges the water of the prescribed ultra-high pressure and a pump 5 which generates the water of the ultra-high pressure. A sucking device 6 is disposed in the position corresponding to the lower side of the photosensitive drum 1 which is disposed to face the discharging section 4 for discharging the water and the photosensitive drum 1 in-between and is supported by the chucking device 2. A slight amt. of the chips generated at the time of the cutting and the water utilized for the cutting are recovered by this sucking device 6 and are recycled after filtration.
