PURPOSE: To prevent clogging of an apparatus, etc. due to crystallization of an org. or inorg. material, by washing a gas after hydrogenation in a coal liquefaction plant with a cleaning solution prepd. by mixing an oil having a specified b.p. range with a predetermined amt. of water.
CONSTITUTION: To a main component consisting of oil of b.p. 70W300°C is added water at least in an amt. calculated on the basis of the formula (wherein VH2O is an amt. of water to be mixed with recycled washing oil, kg/H; Wc is the total of inorg. crystalline salts, etc. reaching an absorption means, kg/H; Ws is an amt. of the washing oil sent from a gas refining plant to a washing oil refining plant, kg/H; k1 is average solubility of the inorg. salts in water; k2 is solubility of water in the washing oil, C1 is coefficient of washing efficiency) to prepare a cleaning solution. Gas after hydrogenation in a coal liquefaction plant, etc. is washed with the cleaning solution by a cleaning solution-circulation process to decrease inorg. gaseous impurities, hydrocarbons, etc.
