PURPOSE: To attain multi-media store and forward exchange by executing selectively interface processing in response to a designated medium type, registering a message from a medium terminal equipment and sending a message to the medium terminal equipment.

CONSTITUTION: A line exchange 1 accommodates key telephone sets 2, 2' being voice medium terminal equipments, facsimile terminal equipments 3, 3' processing image data, and data terminal equipments 5, 5' processing code data. A multi-media store and forward exchange 6 accesses from various medium terminal equipments with a representative telephone set by slip control at the exchange 1. The exchange 6 stores tentatively each message information to a disk 17 via a memory 15 and a disk controller 16. The message information stored tentatively is extracted from the disk 17 by the CPU 14 on request of various medium terminal equipments, processed by an interface section corresponding to the medium type and sent to the medium terminal equipment of a request source.
