PURPOSE: To provide the mouse implementing a 3-dimension coordinate input operation efficiently.

CONSTITUTION: The mouse is provided with two balls 1, 2 rotated in the operation direction, rotary encoders 6, 8 detecting a rotating quantity in Y axis and X axis directions provided in press contact with the balls 1, 2 respectively and a Z axis data generating section 10 generating moving quantity data in the Z axis direction based on data of the rotating quantity, and also with a Y axis data generating section 7 generating moving quantity data in the longitudinal direction to move a cursor based on data of the rotating quantity in the Y-axis direction, an X axis data generating section 9 generating moving quantity data in the lateral direction based on data of the rotating quantity in the X-axis direction, and a CPU 11 obtaining a coordinate position to display a cursor in a virtual space based on the movement quantity data.
