Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prepare and purify a nitroaromatic compd. by nitrating the corresponding aromatic compd. and carrying out subsequent melt crystallization.
CONSTITUTION: The aromatic compd. is nitrated to form an emulsion or soln. contg. the corresponding nitroaromatic compd., an aq. phase is separated from an org. phase contg. the nitroaromatics and the nitroaromatics-contg. phase is subjected to melt crystallization. The nitroaromatic compd. in crystal form is recovered and the residue is recycled. The objective nitroaromatic compd. improved in purity is prepared.
