PURPOSE: To enhance a transfer rate to form a high-density picture independently of the surface state of a transfer material, by developing an electronic latent image on a photosensitive drum with a toner having ≤10μ average particle size in an electrophotographic copying method of an intermediate transfer system.
CONSTITUTION: A toner image attained by developing an electronic latent image on the photosensitive drum 1 with a developing device 3 is transferred to an intermediate transfer roll 35 at a depressing transfer part 6 and is transferred to a copy paper (the transfer material) 11 in a transfer and fixation part 12. In this electrophotographic copying method, a toner having ≤10μ average particle size is used as a toner 3b. It is desirable that the surface layer (an adhesive layer) 37 of the intermediate transfer roll 35 is formed with a silicone rubber.
