Abstract:
PURPOSE:To carry out the catalytic cracking of heavy oil to light oil and an olefin- rich fraction, in high yield, without producing tar, pitch, etc., by adding a low- activity catalyst to the heavy oil, and heating under specific conditions wherein the temperature is changed in two or more steps. CONSTITUTION:Heavy oil Fo is mixed with the catalyst from the regeneration furnace 3 in the catalyst mixer 9 at a catalyst ratio of about 0.05-0.5, and the mixture is fed to the primary cracking furnace 1 and subjected to the primary catalytic cracking at about 350-500 deg.C. The decomposition residue is deposited to the surface of the catalyst particles. After the primary catalytic cracking, the heavy oil, the gaseous decomposition products, the catalyst and the decomposition residue are fed to the top of the secondary cracking furnace 2. The catalyst from the regeneration furnace 3 is charged to the upper fluidized bed of the furnace 2, fluidized with steam St, etc. heated at about 500-800 deg.C in the heating furnace 4, and transferred to the lower fluidized bed. The secondary catalytic cracking is carried out at a catalyst ratio of about 410, at a temperature between about 400-600 deg.C and higher than the temperature of the primary catalytic cracking.
