Abstract:
In the packaging of cigarettes, it is necessary to check that the latter are correctly formed, in particular that they are filled completely with tobacco. For this purpose, the interior of a cigarette magazine (10) is provided with a checking unit (13) which has a number of vertical checking shafts (18), in the region of which the cigarettes are checked by optoelectrical sensors. The intact cigarettes then pass in free fall into a cigarette stock (21).
To ensure an orderly, trouble-free transfer of the checked cigarettes to the cigarette store (15), there are formed underneath the checking shafts (18), in a continuation thereof, guide shafts (28) which terminate immediately above the cigarette stock (21). Guide shafts (28), which are bounded by the vertical, flat guide-shaft walls (29), ensure an ordered, tilt-free deposition of the cigarettes.
Measures are furthermore provided for a cleaning of the sensors for checking the cigarettes.
