Title:
TISSUE INDUCTION REGENERATION METHOD AND STRUT FOR USE THEREIN
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0723982
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To stably hold an osseous tissue covered with a membrane during tissue induction regeneration method and to enable normal ossification.

CONSTITUTION: A rod-shaped implant 11 is fitted and implanted into the hole 10a of an alveolar bone 10 which has become defective through periodontal disease. Next, at least one rod-shaped strut 12 made from apatite hydroxide is implanted in the alveolar bone with its end embedded. A bone filler 13 made from granular HAP is set in the defective part of the bone around the implant. A membrane 14 is provided to cover the alveolar bone and the implant, with the bone filler 13 filling between them. The strut 15 penetrates the membrane and is secured to the alveolar bone to hold the membrane. Since the membrane is supported by the strut, it will not sink and its outer shape is not easy to deform. Deformation of the bone filler covered with the membrane is therefore prevented and normal new bone formation is promoted, allowing quick morphogenesis and healing of the alveolar bone.
