Abstract:
PURPOSE:To realize the LAN adaptor able to limit a station for stations to be operated on the occurrence of a fault with respect the LAN adaptor (communication controller). CONSTITUTION:A means 12 controls data communication with a LAN communication request source 10 and a means 16 makes data communication via a LAN line 14, a means 18 implements procedure control of data communication, a means 20 detects a fault of date communication, a means 22 interrupts the data communication through the detection of the occurrence of a fault, a means 24 retries the transmission till a prescribed time elapses or the fault is restored, a means 26 makes diagnostic data communication at lapse of the prescribed time, a means 28 discriminates the presence of fault occurrence and its location based on the result of diagnostic data communication, a means 30 informs the fault occurrence and its location to the request source 10, and a means 32 restart data communication on the restoration of the fault.
