Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide this novel compound having a rooting-stimulating action and a root growth-stimulating action and useful for plant growth regulators, etc.
CONSTITUTION: The optically active (+)-4,4,4-trifluoro-3-(indole-3-) butyric acid of the formula I (* is asymmetric carbon). The compound of formula I is obtained by reacting a compound of formula II with ethyl alcohol and subsequently treating the produced ester with an enzyme having an esterase activity.
