PURPOSE: To obtain a polymer having good stereoregularity and a low content of catalyst residue, by using a catalyst prepared by combining an organometallic compound/organic acid ester component with a component prepared by impregnating a solid substance containing Mg, Si and Al with a Ti compound (and an organic acid ester).
CONSTITUTION: A solid substance is prepared by contacting, for example, by a copulverization treatment, a Mg halide (e.g., MgCl2) with a compound of the formula, wherein R is a 1W24C hydrocarbyl, X is a halogen and 0≤m≤4 (e.g., SiCl4) and an Al halide (e.g., AlCl3). A solid catalytic component is prepared by impregnating, for example, by means of copulverization, the above solid substance with a Ti compound (or its adduct with an organic acid ester) (e.g., TiCl4). A polyolefin is obtained by (co)polymerizing an olefin in the presence of a mixture or adduct of the above solid catalytic component and an organometallic compound (e.g., triethylaluminum) and an organic acid ester (e.g., methyl toluylate).
