Abstract:

PURPOSE: To control the valve timing of an intake valve always into the desired timing to control intake air quantity freely and also control ignition timing and fuel injection quantity with high accuracy parallel with the control of intake air quantity.

CONSTITUTION: In a target oscillating angle computing means 50, a basic oscillating angle is computed on the basis of the output signals of an accelerator opening (θACC) sensor 13 and a CRK sensor 4, and the output signal of an O2 sensor 10 is feedback-controlled to compute correction oscillating angle variables cylinder by cylinder. The correction oscillating angle variable common to all cylinders is further computed to compute the target oscillating angle. On the basis of the computed target oscillating angle, a command signal is outputted to oscillating angle control mechanism 38 to control intake air quantity. Parallel with the control of intake air quantity performed by an oscillating angle determining means M, the control of ignition timing and fuel injection quantity is performed by an ignition timing determining means IG and a fuel supply quantity determining means FU on the basis of various operation parameters.
