PURPOSE: To prevent an omission of signals and to improve the fidelity, by detecting a time error between a reproduced pulse signal of a preceding head and that of a subsequent head and compensating the time error.
CONSTITUTION: A pulse count type FM demodulating circuit is constituted with component parts including a pulse generator PG1 through a smoothing circuit FIL1. A time error compensating circuit TC1 is set opposite to said FM demodulating circuit. A time error is eliminated by switching of reproduced pulse signals Pa and Pb for a time T2 during which an output F5 of an FF5 is set at 0 after an output F2 of an FF2 is set at 0. The voltage time integrated pulses Pa1 and Pb1 corresponding to the product of a time error T2 and a wave detection output fPg are obtained, and the pulse Pa1 is added to a pulse train Pg through a mixing circuit MIX1. Thus an error is compensated. As a result, an omission of signals is prevented with improvement of fidelity.
