CONSTITUTION: A lift 27 suspending a magnetic head holder 6 is moved up and down by a cam body 24 with an elliptical cam face turned by a pulse motor 21. The rate of moving-up or moving-down of the magnetic head 2 is made always constant and it can be made optimum and can be kept always stable by regulating frequency applied to the pulse motor 21. The collision of the magnetic head 2 against the magnetic disk 1 is prevented at the time of loading or unloading and the damage and deterioration of the magnetic head 2 can be prevented.
