PURPOSE: To obtain a dental sealing material-composition, capable of readily performing filling and removing operation, excellent in sealability and hardly causing abrasion or falling off and having a suitable elasticity after curing.
CONSTITUTION: The objective dental sealing material composition comprises (A) 20-90 pts.wt. polymerizable monomer containing ≥10wt.% phenoxy-based acrylate monomer of formula I [R is H or methyl; X is 2-4C alkylene; Y is 6-10C alkyl; (n) is 1-10] or formula II, (B) 10-80 pts.wt. filler, inorganic powder, organic powder, organic and inorganic composite material powder without inhibiting the radical reaction or a combination thereof and (C) 0.01-5 pts.wt. polymerization initiator, preferably the photopolymerization initiator composed of a combination of a photosensitizer with a photopolymerization accelerator. Since this composition has moderate elasticity after curing, problems in falling off, deformation or abrasion are hardly caused by effects on absorption of occlusal stress by elasticity when this composition is cured in the cavity of a tooth. Furthermore, the composition can readily be removed as one lump by hollowing out the lump with a tool such as an explorer or an excavator in removing operation.
