Title:
ELIMINATOR FOR ROOTLET OF CARROT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5951764
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To remove rootlets of carrot without damaging the root of carrot with reduced labor, by making several through holes on two discs connected by a shaft, stretching tough and flexible filaments loosely through these holes.

CONSTITUTION: The two discs 1 and 2 are attached to the shaft 3, the several through holes 5 are made on the discs, and the tough and flexible filaments 4 made of plastic fibers, etc. are stretched through the through holes 5 between the discs. When this device is rotated by the small-sized motor 6, the filaments 4 stretched loosely between the discs 1 and 2 are rotated by centrifugal force with drawing an arc. When the carrot 7 is brought into contact with the rotating filaments 4, rootlets can be removed without damaging the root of carrot. Labor is more extremely reduced than existing hand operation required to remove the rootlets of carrot.
