PURPOSE: To prevent the generation of leak current due to dust and the fuming and firing accompanying it in an electric precipitation part of an air cleaner.

CONSTITUTION: An air cleaner is constituted of a body frame 1, a blower 2 consisting of a motor 2a and a fan 2b fitted to the frame 1, a prefilter 4 arranged in the inlet of a blast pass, an electric precipitation part 11 consisting of a lot of discharge electrodes 22 and a dust collection filter 23 for collecting fine dust passed through the prefilter 4, a high voltage generating part for applying high voltage to the electric precipitation part 11, a control means for controlling the output voltage of the high voltage generating means and the energization of the motor 2a and a current control means with which the discharge electrodes are equipped.
