Title:
MAGNETIC TAPE CARTRIDGE HOUSING CELL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH076465
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To miniaturize a library device without decreasing housing amount by setting a distance between respective shelves constituting a cartridge housing cell so that a gap may not be formed between the upper surface of the cartridge and the shelf, and projecting the cartridge to such an extent that the handle of an accessor can grasp it by a projecting means at the time of taking out the cartridge.

CONSTITUTION: In the cell 1 housing many magnetic tape cartridges 2, the distance between the respective shelves 1a is set so that the gap may not be formed between the upper surface 2a of the cartridge 2 and the shelf 1a in the case of housing the cartridge. When the housed cartridge 2 is taken out from the shelf 1a, the handle 6 of the accessor is used. The handle 6 is constituted of a fixed finger 6a and a movable finger 6b. The cartridge 2 is interposed between the fingers 6a and 6b, and the edge of the cartridge 2 is grapsed by moving the finger 6b to the finger 6a. When the cartridge 2 housed in the shelf 1a is pushed in further in such constitution, the cartridge 2 is projected by an extruding mechanism 3 provided behind the shelf 1a, and easily pulled out by the handle 6.
