Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To connect a FAX MODEM even to a general terminal by using Class 1 and Class 2 of standard CCITT recommendation for the procedure of connection between the FAX MODEM provided with a memory transmitting/ receiving function and the terminal. SOLUTION: This FAX MODEM is constituted of a FAX data transfer control part 3 for transferring FAX data from the terminal to a FAX data storage part 5 and transferring FAX data, which are stored in the FAX data storage part 5, received from an opposite side FAX to the terminal by performing simulated FAX communication while using the procedures of commands Class 1 and Class 2 for FAX control, a calling signal sending part 2 for sending a simulated calling signal when transferring the stared received data to the terminal, calling signal detection part 6 for detecting the calling signal from the opposite side FAX, and a FAX MODEM part 4 for converting a FAX date signal to a signal on the side of a telephone line.
