PURPOSE: To perform excellent tracking and focusing by making current flow through a coil arranged with magnetic material in its intermediate part in a base side magnetic circuit, generating thrust to drive a lens holder.

CONSTITUTION: In the state where no current flows through focus coils 33, 35 and track coils 34, 36, the lens holder 32 is in a neutral position, and when current flows through the focus coils 33, 35, the thrust is generated in the coil, and the lens holder 32 is moved along a shaft 38a, and the focusing is performed. Similarly, when current flows through the track coils 34, 36, the lens holder 32 is rotated around the shaft 38a by the trust of the coil, and the tracking is performed. Thus, the excellent focusing and tracking are performed. Further, a space factor is improved by making the magnetic material provided on the intermediate part of the coils a metal thin film.
