PURPOSE: To provide an optical erasing method for records of the optical information processing element.
CONSTITUTION: The optical information processing element has a photoelectric conversion element and a memory layer, functioning to maintain conductivity varied by irradiation even after light is cut off between electrodes at least one of which transmits light and also has a hydrazone-based compound and a thioketone-based compound incorporated in the memory layer, and when a memory state which is generated by increasing the photodetection sensitivity of the optical information processing element by irradiation with light having the absorption range wavelength of the thioketone-based compound is erased, the element is irradiated with light with the absorption range wavelength of the hydrazone-based compound.
