Abstract:
The present invention provides new and structurally diverse compositions comprising compounds of the general formula: Wherein U is -(CH2)nX or -(CH2)nNR1(CH2)X; R1 is hydrogen, C1-C8 alkyl, C1-C8 hydroxyalkyl or C1-C8 alkoxyalkyl; V is -(CH2)nX, -(CH2)nNR1(CH2)X, hydrogen, C1-C8 alkyl, C1-C8 hydroxyalkyl or C1-C8 alkoxyalkyl; V and R1 may jointly be -(CH2)m- to form a heterocyclic ring; X is -CO2H, -PO3H2, -SO3H or -CONHOH; a, b, c, d, n and m may be the same or different and are from one to about ten, preferably from one to about three. Methods for imaging using compositions of the invention are also provided.
