PURPOSE: To make no skew conveyance attainable, by constituting a device so as to place the moving trace of a pick roller at an angle other than that of parallel or perpendicular with a sheet paper conveying direction, in case of the device provided with a picker retreating mechanism, delivering a piece of sheet paper on a hopper in regular sequence by a picker.

CONSTITUTION: A lever 7' as the traveling member of a picker retreating mechanism for elevating a pick roller 6 capable of making contact with the topmost one of sheet paper 1 on a hopper is disposed as tilted to a device reference plane 18. This lever 7' is made so as to scilate upward with a shaft 17 of a motor M2 as a fulcrum via coupling plates 15 and 16 when a magnet 11 is excited, and at this time, the pick roller 6 is made to go up along a circular arcing groove 23 of a reference plane 18 simultaneously. And this pick roller 6 is so designed to be rotated by the motor M2 via a pulley 22, a belt 9, a universal joint 20 and a shaft 19.
