Abstract:

PURPOSE:To enable the transmission of large power by disposing metal members having V-shape section and elongate rollers alternately abutting with each other in the center of inside of belt so that the metal members may effectively resist the side pressure occurring in the V belt at the time of power transmission, precluding the lateral deformation and friction heat. CONSTITUTION:V belt 1 has in its center of inside metal members 2 and needle rollers 3 alternately abutting with each other, and upper rubber layer 4 and lower rubber layer 5 are formed in the endless manner on the top and bottom of the metal members 2 and around the needle rollers 3, and further a flexible endless member 6 is attached to the upper rubber layer 5. Both ends 2a, 2b of the metal members 2 constitute the two sides 7 of the V belt and directly contact the V groove of the V pulley. The needle rollers 3 are situated inside the two ends 7 of the V belt 1 and do not come in contact with the V groove of the V pulley. When a large pressure is acting upon the both ends 7 of the V belt, the lateral deformation is prevented by the metal members 2.
