PURPOSE: To provide an apparatus and a method for the cultivation of a plant difficult to grow in the presence of excessive water such as Phalaenopsis aphrodite (a kind of orchid), free from the problem of the nutrient liquid degradation by anaerobic bacteria, effective for preventing the withering of the plant, facilitating the cultivation even under excessively irrigated condition, promoting the growth and enabling easy exchange of the nutrient liquid.
CONSTITUTION: A gas generation means 28 is fixed to the bottom 26 of a nutrient liquid holding means 21. One or plural through holes 35 are formed on a plant holding means 24 to introduce the gas generated by the gas generation means 28 into the nutrient liquid holding means 21 and transfer the gas through the through-holes 35 into the plant holding means 24.
