PURPOSE: To obtain an original feeder preventing the occurrence of a miscopy by warning the fact that the setting state of an original is unsuitable and simultaneously, the delay of a copying action without interrupting the copying action by an image forming device even when the setting of the original has abnormality in such a case as an operator leaves from the image forming device and the abnormal state is not corrected.
CONSTITUTION: The original feeder is provided with a first detecting means 8 detecting movement in the feeding direction of a delivered original, second detecting means 15 detecting length in a direction perpendicular to the feeding direction of the original, a size deciding means combining the detection signals of the first and second detecting means 8 and 15 to specify the size of the original carried from an original setting part 1, and a size signal output means outputting a deciding signal from the size deciding means, and one of the second detecting means 15 detects the placing state of the original to warn the abnormality of the setting of the original.
