PURPOSE: To obtain the data reproducing device by which a reproducing speed and a reproducing direction conforming to choice of a user can be set, and an operating instruction can be executed concisely without being accompanied with a troublesome operation at a user's hand.

CONSTITUTION: This device is provided with a designating means 1 for designating a position of the part displayed on a display screen, a position detecting means 2 for detection the position on the display screen designated by the designating means 1, a time counting means 6 for measuring an hour or time, a reproducing speed determinating means 7 for determining a speed for reproducing the data, based on information from the position detecting means 2 and the time counting means 6, a processing means 4 for reproducing the data at the data reproducing output speed determined by the reproducing speed determining means 7, and an output means for outputting the reproduced data.
