PURPOSE: To facilitate the start of an engine remarkably by providing an intake preheater receiving latent heat type regenerating agent in an intake supply pipe and attached to exchange heat with the intake.
CONSTITUTION: In an intake supply pipe 3 for supplying intake from a turbocharger 1 to an engine 2 is attached an intake preheater 4 containing latent heat type regenerating agent capable of absorbing and emitting latent heat through solid-liquid state change. In the start of the engine, intake is heated by the emission of the regenerating agent. In the normal running, the regenerating agent is heated by the intake. Thus, the intake to the engine is preheated so that the start of the engine can be remarkably facilitated even in cold places and early winter.
