PURPOSE: To drive a recording head in a manner to stably discharge ink drops irrespective of irregularities of characteristics thereof by setting driving conditions for the recording head in accordance with data of the characteristics of the recording head.
CONSTITUTION: A recording head 1 is a device that discharges ink drops from a plurality of nozzle arrays thereof, thereby recording an image by forming dots on a recording medium. The recording head 1 is formed of a plurality of printing heads in one unit so as to be able to discharge ink drops of a plurality of colors. Different color inks are discharged from different printing heads. A color image is formed on a recording medium 12 by mixing of ink drops of different colors. A printing data is transmitted to each printing head via a flexible cable 10 from an electric circuit of a printer main body.
