Abstract:

PURPOSE:To make images with smooth contours available for recording wherein the recording is made with a liquid crystal printer in the number of pixels four times the normal ones with interpolation applied to input of signals for images in normal resolution. CONSTITUTION:In recording of images on a recording medium by employing a liquid crystal panel on which liquid crystal cells are arranged two dimensionally, density correction is made at intermediate values between pixels that are adjoining one another vertically and horizontally, for instance between the pixels An and An+1. For the density correction between the pixels that are adjoining diagonally, for instance between the pixels An and Bn+1, value for a rear pixel, for instance An, on a specified position is used in the case where the density difference between the pixels in two diagonal directions is more than a specified value k2. And linear interpolation is applied for the density correction at means value taken from four adjoining pixels in the case where the density difference is below the specified value. Thereby recording can be made on the recording medium with smooth contours with interpolation applied from inputs of NTSC or RGB signals in normal resolution.
