PURPOSE: To make it possible to miniaturize totally by a method wherein the typing function of a type ring and the rotating function for selecting type of the marking machine concerned are integrated together, resulting in reducing the number of parts.

CONSTITUTION: The type ring itself of a type assembly 24 consists of gear so as to combines typing function with ratary gear function. A selector gear 54 directly engages with the gear-like type ring so as to select a type. In addition, header denotation is formed in a recessed part between gears, on each of which the type of the type ring is formed, resulting in omitting an intermediate gear, a header ring and the like.
