Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent the reflection of a laser light at a windshield in a vehicle distance detecting apparatus which measures the distance to a vehicle running ahead by means of the laser light from a laser radar device set at a predetermined position within a vehicle. CONSTITUTION:An Al2O3 film 20 of lambda/4 thickness, a ZrO2 film 22 of lambda/2 thickness and an MgF2 film 24 of lambda/4 thickness are sequentially deposited as a non- reflecting coating film on a windshield 11. In consequence, the reflectivity of the laser light of wavelength is decreased to approximately 0%, so that the noises due to the light reflected at the windshield 11 and reflected at an instrument panel within the vehicle are reduced. The measuring accuracy of the distance is improved owing to the improvement of the power of the emitted laser light.
