Date Dec. 17, 1987.An ironing press comprises a heated plate (6) and an arm (5) that can be applied against an ironing board (22). The latter is mounted on a support (28) which can be moved along ramps (30) to reach a lowered position, thus making it possible to lift a sleeve-board (37) which is mounted on arms (38 and 39) in order to bring this sleeve-board substantially to the same level as the level at which the board (22) was previously located. An operating knob (41) allows the sleeve-board (37) or the board (22), as desired, to be locked in the working position or to be both released to allow their positions to be interchanged.
