Abstract:
PURPOSE: To suppress the splashing of molten metal and slag in an oxygen- flowing operation. CONSTITUTION: The part of this lance 12a for oxygen blowing, which part is inserted into an electric furnace 1, is tilted upward and extended and its front end is arranged upper than the extension line of the insertion direction into a working port 10. A nozzle has respectively two pieces of rapidly sectionally expanding nozzles formed with small-diameter parts and large-diameter parts respectively on an oxygen inflow side and oxygen outflow sides and straight type nozzles which are uniform in the sectional shape from one end to the other end. The rapidly sectionally expanding nozzles are arranged on the side nearer the surface of the molten metal 9 than the straight type nozzles.
