Abstract:
PURPOSE: To light a lamp such as an incandescent lamp by converting a commercial power supply voltage into a high frequency. CONSTITUTION: A lighting device is provided with a dimming circuit 2 which phase-controls a commercial power supply, and a lighting circuit 1 which rectifies the output of the dimming circuit 2 by a rectifier Re1 so as to convert into a high frequency by a half bridge type transistor inverter to feed electricity to a lamp LP. The lighting circuit 1 is equipped with a starting circuit S which triggers the transistor Q2 of the transistor inverter every half wave of the power supply. The starting circuit S is provided with second rectifier Re2 which receives and rectifies the previous stage AC voltage of the rectifier Re1 feeding electricity to the transistor inverter, a capacitor C3 which is charged through a resistor R3 by the output voltage of the rectifier Re2, and a trigger element Q3 which is turned on so as to start the transistor inverter when the voltage of the capacitor C3 reaches a break over voltage. The trigger element Q3 is an SBS having the sufficiently low break over voltage (for instance, several volts or so).
