PURPOSE: To enable a user to perform document management with a viewpoint of free classifications exceeding the limit of the functions of directories and folders that an OS offers.
CONSTITUTION: Constitution information on the document and information regarding an application program are stored in information nodes in a belonging information node storage part 114, so a batch process for plural data files and linkage with the application program are enabled by referring to belonging information nodes. Further, even when the constitution of a data file or the application program is modified, corresponding information of one information node is only modified and individual documents need not be altered. The information node is stored with information regarding a gathering of low-order information nodes and a gathering of documents, so classifications can be structured irrelevantly to the limit of hierarchical directories. Further, the user can set optional information in the information node, so relative information can be stored separately from a classification name.
