PURPOSE: To control an optimum excess air ratio and to rapidly recover a stable combustion against disturbance by detecting a temperature of a light burner port.
CONSTITUTION: The combustion controller comprises a light burner port 9 for forming a light flame 10 of equivalence ratio or less, a prompt heat sensor 21 mounted in contact with the port 9, a temperature sensor 22 for sensing a burner port temperature, state setting means 26 for previously setting an output of the sensor 21 responsive to a combustion amount, correcting means 25 for correcting an output of the sensor 21, control means 31 for so controlling a fan 16 as to reduce a deviation of the correction value from the set value, and burner port temperature deciding means 28 for deciding an output signal of the sensor When the signal of the sensor 22 exceeds a predetermined value 27 continuously for a set time or more, supply of fuel is stopped. Thus, when a combustion setting point is deviated, the deviation is sensed, and returned to an original setting point, and hence stable combustion is maintained, and if it is not still corrected, it is backed up by the temperature sensor.
