Abstract:
In a head (1) for a medical or dental handpiece (2) comprising an especially angular housing (3) in which a treatment tool (9) is mounted so as to be displaceable to and fro and rotatable along its central axis (9a), the head (1) being assigned an adjustment device for the rotary position of the treatment tool (9), which device has a positioning coupling (46) with two interacting coupling parts (14, 21), a rotary engagement member (24), which is manually accessible from the outside, for the treatment tool (9) is movably mounted on or in the housing (3), the rotatary engagement member (24) and/or the positioning coupling (46) are connected to the treatment tool (9) by a displacement coupling (22, 23, 26; 22, 26) permitting the lifting movement of the treatment tool (9) and the positioning coupling (46) is effective between the housing (3) and the rotary engagement member (24) or the treatment tool (9).
