Abstract:
A metallurgical vessel, esp. for use in a DC current electric arc furnace and which has a metallic electrode attached to the base of the furnace. The electrode is formed of two bar sections, one of which contacts the melt and the other protruding out of the furnace is connected to electrical and cooling fluid sources. The bar in contact with the melt has a larger dia. with a shoulder onto which a flanged tube is screwed. The flange is coaxial to the electrode axis and supports a holder for the DC supply component and the cooling fluid supply and return lines.
