PURPOSE: To improve strength and fracture toughness by orienting a ceramic phase made of polycrystalline products and a metal component of an unoxidized component and making all intergranulars angularly incompatible to made it a dense poly crystal fine structure.

CONSTITUTION: A ceramic containing material consists of a ceramic phase made of poly crystal products obtained by an oxidizing reaction between a parent metal/a gas phase oxidizing agent and a metal component of ≤40 vol.% made of an unoxidized component of ≥1 of the parent metal. Further, the whole oxides/oxide intergranulars substantially have angular incompatibility of <20°. The ceramic containing material preferably contains the voids combined each other in the inside of about 10-35 vol.%.
