PURPOSE: To improve the carrying force of the transfer material of a transfer drum disposed opposite to the photosensitive drum of a copying machine.
CONSTITUTION: The transfer drum 60 has a pair of ring members attached to a rotary shaft and both ring members are connected with a tie-plate 640. Both side parts of a dielectric sheet 630 made of flexible resin are adhered to the ring members. The leading edge part 630A of the dielectric sheet is fixed to the tie-plate 640 via a first fixing plate 642, and the tailing edge part 630B is fixed to the tie-plate 640 via a second fixing plate 644. A top end plate 650 attached adjacently to the first fixing plate 642 always pushes the leading edge part of the dielectric sheet 630 from the inside of the outside in a radial direction, because the top end of the top end plate 650 can be vertically moved. Therefore, the radius of curvature of the dielectric sheet 630 in the vicinity of the top end plate 650 is made large and the carrying force of the transfer material 5 is increased.
