PURPOSE: To keep a fastening spring free from deformation to prevent an optical unit from falling off a shelf in an optical communication device.
CONSTITUTION: A fastening spring 4, which is formed of a horizontal plate spring equipped with a fastening part 6 at its free end, is fixed to the side face of an optical unit close to a lower slide plane in a cantilever manner in such a position that its free end is made to face the innermost of the optical unit 1, the fastening part 6 of the fastening spring 4 is composed of a projection 6a bent downward overhanging and an upward sloping part 6b, a slot 7 is provided to the projection 6a, in a channel which forms the front edge of a lower front frame of a shelf, a stop bar is provided at level correspondent to the fastening spring 4 traversing the width of the shelf, a stopper piece equipped with a pawl 14a, which is engaged with the slot 7 of the fastening spring 4 to prevent the spring 7 from being elastically deformed in an upward direction when the fastening spring 4 bears against a stop bar, is fixed to the stop bar.
