PURPOSE: To obtain a decorative plate having qualitative touch of wood and interesting quality of pattern using cheap surface layer material by forming embossment groups consisting of an optional number of embossments crowded with each other on the surface of the surface layer material made of natural wood stuck to the top face of a base layer material.

CONSTITUTION: A decorative plate 1 is made of a base layer material 2 having a surface layer material 3 arranged on the top face thereof. The base layer material 2 is made of an intermediate veneer 4 and a rear veneer 5. On the other hand, the surface layer material 3 is made of a surface veneer obtained by cutting natural wood. On the surface thereof, conduits 6 are exposed unevenly. In this case, embossment groups consisting of an optional number of embossments 7 crowded with each other are formed on the surface of the surface layer material 3 so as to express a desired pattern by the embossment groups. The decorative plate 1 is made of a common plywood or natural wood decorative plywood. As for the pattern, longitudinal directions of the embossments 7 are conformed to each other so as to arrange in a curve. Further, the surface layer material 1 is colored and coated with transparent coating.
