Abstract:
PURPOSE:To readily obtain the subject compound useful as an intermediate for cyclpentenoid antibiotics and anticancer agents in a step reaction by subjecting a specific raw material compound to a cyclization desilylation reaction in the presence of a perrhenate salt and an aryl sulfonic acid. CONSTITUTION:A 5-substituted-3-hydroxy-2-methylene-1-trialkylsilyl-4-pentene-1- one of formula I (R1 is phenyl-substituted alkyl, phenyl, trialkylsilyl; TRS is trialkylsilyl) (e.g. 5-phenyl-3-hydroxy-2-methylene-1-trimethylsilyl-4-pentene-1-one) is subjected to a cyclic desilylation reaction in the presence of a perrhenate salt (e.g. tetraammonium perrhenate) and an arylsulfonic acid (e.g. benzene sulfonic acid) usually in a solvent to obtain the objective compound of formula II. The solvent is preferably a chlorinated hydrocarbon such as chloroform.
