PURPOSE: To improve machining efficiency by adding plural types of abrasive materials different in function to a high pressure jet flow at the same time or independently, corresponding to the types of workpieces and machining requirements.
CONSTITUTION: Abrasive materials different in grinding function are stored in tanks 5, 6. Water increased in pressure by a pressure intensifier 3 is supplied from a low pressure water pump 2 via an accumulator 4 to a nozzle 1 and the abrasive materials stored in the tanks 5, 6 are supplied to the nozzle 1 for jetting. At this time, the abrasive materials in the tanks 5, 6 are supplied at the same time or independently, corresponding to the types of workpieces and machining requirements. For example, cast iron abrasive material of grain size 1200μm is stored in the tank 5 and cast iron abrasive material of grain size 100μm in the tank 6 to perform grinding of a SUS steel plate, so that small size abrasive material improves grinding efficiency but increases grinding roughness, and large size abrasive material has reverse effect.
