Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To identify the position and name of a facility and also to prevent such a case where it's hard to look at a map or it takes a long time to search for a desired facility by displaying the symbol and name showing the facility at the positions on the map that includes the facility of a selected type. SOLUTION: When a guide key is operated, a processor 6 shows a guide menu at a prescribed position of a display device 29 with superimposition on a map. If it's supposed that the symbol data on the hotels, service stations, etc., are recorded in a CD-ROM 1, these symbols are shown at each prescribed position as necessary. A touch sensor is placed on the front face of the device 29, and every facility is detected when the display of the facility is touched by a finger. Then the guide menu is erased when a hotel, a parking lot or a service station is selected. At the same time, the facility symbol that is selected with superimposition on the map is shown at its position.
