Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance charge/discharge cycle characteristics, storage characteristics, and safety by including a composition capable of generating a hydrogen ion by reacting an electrolyte with water, and arranging a hydrogen ion trapping agent in a portion coming in contact with the electrolyte within a battery. SOLUTION: A hydrogen ion trapping agent functions as a material for reacting with a hydrogen ion existing in an electrolyte and lowering hydrogen ion concentration, and is arranged by mixing, dissolving, or dispersing in the electrolyte, or mixing in an electrode. As the hydrogen ion trapping agent, lithium.nickel composite oxide for example is preferable, and preferable to be used in the form of powder. The composite oxide is preferable to have a specific surface area of 0.3 or more, but when mixed in a positive electrode, use of the composite oxide having a specific surface area of 3.0 or less is preferable. D50 particle size is preferable to be 40 μm or less, but when mixed in the positive electrode, 30 μm or less particle size is preferable.
