Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a coated optical fiber in which a single-core coated optical fiber and a tape-like ribbon conductor can be easily fusion-connected. CONSTITUTION: With respect to the coated optical fiber 1 where a protective coating layer is provided on the outer circumference of a bare optical fiber 2 for optical transmission, the protective coating layer consists of an inner coating layer 4, a release layer 5 which has 250μm outside diameter and is placed on the outer circumference of the inner coating layer 4, and an outer coating layer 6 placed on the outer circumference of the release layer 5, and the adhesive strength between the release layer 5 and the outer coating layer 6 is 2 to 50gf/cm. Thus, only the outer coating layer 6 on the outside of the release layer 5 is easily removed.
