PURPOSE: To provide a small EL panel having excellent mounting workability or reliability by which an interval between both leads can be set widely while securing excellent electrical continuity and mechanical reliability of the externally extending leads.
CONSTITUTION: A transparent electrode layer 12 is arranged integrally with one main surface of an emitter layer 11 containing phosphor particles dispersedly. The first externally extending lead 14 is arranged additionally in the transparent electrode layer 12. A back plate layer 15 is laminated and arranged on the other main surface of the emitter layer 11 through a reflecting insulating layer. The second externally extending lead 16 is arranged additionally in the back plate layer 15. The first and the second externally extending leads 14 and 16 have respectively electrode parts 14a and 16a and lead parts 14b and 16b having width narrower than the electrode parts. The respective lead parts 14b and 16b are connected to positions dislocated more outside than the center of the respective electrode parts.
